In 2016, the CES School Council and school administration embarked on a special fundraising project to make significant and much-needed improvements to the over 50-year old school playgrounds. These much-loved structures have stood the test of time and, after more than half a century of play and enjoyment, we are making significant efforts to upgrade our playgrounds for our school and our community. While these upgrades to our playground will benefit our students, our playgrounds are a community resource that is shared by and benefits everyone!
Among other things, it was essential to the council and administration that the new playground design created a space for students to play safely, was accessible to all students, and reflected the needs of an ever-growing diverse community.
Over the past five years, parents have worked collaboratively with the school and division to design a space that would reflect the project's vision. As a result, the Parent Council and CES are delighted to announce that they are in the process of making a final push to secure the funds necessary to refurbish our playgrounds by the fall of 2022.
